Open Platform: Sony to allow ANY 3rd party software on the PS3

Sony already announced Linux would run on retail PS3 consoles (TerraSoft Solutions announced a while ago that their Yellow Dog Linux v5.0 would run on PS3.) Today it looks like Sony might even go futher with this and also allow homebrew applications on the PS3. Interesting info was posted on the official PlayStation site: “PLAYSTATION3 allows any desired third-party system software to be installed on it besides its system software provided by Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.”
