Terra Soft moves past Apple with first Cell-based supercomputing cluster

Thomas Swidler, senior director of research and development with Sony Computer Entertainment, says that Sony approached Terra Soft because it could provide all of the components for the cluster. The cluster will be made up of PlayStation 3 (PS3) systems using the Cell Broadband Engine (Cell BE) running Yellow Dog Linux and the Y-HPC cluster suite.
