Russia plants flag on North Pole seabed
Russia today planted a flag on the North Pole’s seabed in an attempt to declare sovereignty of the unclaimed land. The journey to the bottom of the sea began at an ice hole near the North Pole and the two Russian submarines dived to more than 4200 metres, according to the Itar-Tass news agency.
