Here’s a great article written by Dave Taylor, describing how to install linux and Mac OS X on a PowerBook. This article details the trials and tribulations of turning a perfectly good Apple PowerBook into a tri-boot system with Mac OS X, Yellow Dog Linux and Ubuntu Linux. If you want to learn more about the world of Linux you can’t go wrong with either of these two Linux operating systems for Macintosh. Even better: if you’ve an older Mac that doesn’t have the oomph to run Panther and, soon, Tiger, then turning it into a Linux-based server could be a terrific alternative.

Well you could do 2 distros of Linux, but not Yellow Dog Linux, it is PPC only. Ubuntu and Fedora would be good choices however, and I would recommend keeping it on, as they are fun to play with.

Ima go with Ubuntu. I love it. Used it as my first distro on my Macbook, and Yellow Dog seems weird to me. Oh well, tha’s just me.
